Hi, I got a problem when upgrading OVMS v1.5 to OVMS v6.1 on DEC2000. It show a error message when booting: " Error returned from node BANAX1 ( It own name) System version is mismatch, please relink." Please help to verify this. Thanks in advance. Son.

Turn on verification in the system startup and determine what command procedure, image, or tool is returning this error. It would appear that you have a layered product or local image or device driver that is not compatible with OpenVMS Alpha V6.1. That is message does not follow the standard OpenVMS error message format, and the phrasing of the error -- if that is the actual phrasing -- would tend to indicate that the product encountering the error was not a native-English-language product. It would also tend to indicate this may be a detached or indirectly involved image. | |||||

re .0 You need to clarify whether the problem occurred during the upgrade or whether the upgrade completely successfully etc. If the upgrade was successful but now during the boot you get the message shown then (as .1 says) use SET VERIFY or WRITE SYS$OUTPUT to find out where it is coming from and most likely it will be a layered product that uses operating system version specific interfaces and which will have to be re-installed or possibly upgraded itself. |
