Hi, I need some informations on Hardware support : What is the minimum OpenVMS version for : - Alphaserver 4000 5/300 - Alphaserver 4000 5/400 - Alphaserver 4100 5/400 V6.2-1h3 or V7.1 ? It seems to me there is contradiction between SPD 6.2-1h* (v6.2 to v6.2-1h3) and Firmware Releases Notes ALPHA4100_V20_FW_RELNOTE.TXT (cd 3.7) : " These release notes are intended for users of the AlphaServer 4100 and AlphaServer 4000 cabinet- and ! pedestal-style systems. Henceforth in these notes, "4100" ! will be used to refer to both the model 4100 and model ! 4000. " " 1.1 Firmware and Operating System Revision Matrix Table 1-1 AlphaServer 4100 Firmware/Software Revision Matrix Console OpenVMS Version Alpha Digital UNIX Windows NT SRM V1.2 V6.2-1H3 V3.2F - ~~~~~~~~~ SRM V2.0 V6.2-1H3 V3.2F - " This question is important for my customer . Thanks for help. Philippe. TSC Evry

You will want OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3, or V7.1 or later. These systems cannot boot nor operate with any previous OpenVMS release. Please get a copy of the `CPU Operating System Versions and Release Dates Table & Flowchart' document from COMET. (Specify the title to http://comet.alf.dec.com/, look in the STARS Operating Systems area for the target file.) |
