MRU V1.1 on OpenVMS ROBOT3> robot inject slot 3 INJECT failed on GKA200:: Robot Illegal request. ROBOT3> robot move port 0 slot 3 ROBOT3> The INJECT did light the light on the import door, and allowed me to put a cartridge into the slot and close the door. Then, the failure occurred. The subsequent MOVE did move the cartridge to the correct slot. I've read some of the other notes on inject, and I'm not sure if what I saw is a bug or feature. Thoughts? Thanks! tl

Robot misfeature most likely. Turn on MRU_VERBOSE and try to reproduce. You'll most likely discover that the robot is detecting the door being closed. This generates a SCSI Check Condition, which we pick-up on the next Move Medium command (usually). The large amount of extra error checking that has gone into V1.2 helps fix this a little, and a change to the Ready Inport code fixes the rest of it (usually). | |||||
