You can remove the magazine with a tape still in the drive. While I certainly appreciate the ability to do this so I don't have to wait for the tape to be unloaded, I do wonder whether this would cause media managers problems. Two come to mind: o (minor) Remove a magazine and replace it with a full one. Unless the library supports exchange you can't move tapes anywhere. o Media Management software that keep track of cartridge location by "magazine" could get confused when a tape is put back into the wrong magazine.

Think of it as a library.. You can certainly do that with TL810/820
series library. If this is a needed feature that SW would like to keep
we can certainly entertain it. Give us your position..
