The Find Cartridge command hangs when a hard search is needed to find a cartridge. If MRU_WAIT is set for the GUI, then it completes eventually. This suggests a missing mrd_shutdown() for some startup.

As I suspected this was a mrd_startup() leak. There were cases when mrd_shutdown() wasn't being called after a startup or a show. Finding these in the Find support, started a trail that lead to Show and the incremental slot scan, but I think I've got them all. During an incremental slot scan, the robot *will* be held open; even on direct connect SCSI on Digital the extra startup time made it too slow. OpenVMS on an HSJ would be even worse. It will close the robot on a Stop or Pause. | |||||
