Back in note #234, a discussion of the GUI's handling of multi-tower TL82x configurations turned into a discussion of trying to figure out the robot geometry and a possible vendor specific mode page for that information. Not much came of it, but the geometry discussion isn't really an open problem. It is more like a wish list item. So, I'm going to move the related notes from that topic here. The original note will discuss the specific problem with the GUI on multi-tower configurations.

After the hard experienced testing MUSL, SEP and ATL has looked into the base code and decided that this base code is not easily to add complex changes - real messy!!! Additinal MODE PAGE is considered a complex change. We can only support bug fixes and minor changes such as the list in my TL89x status memo. Next generation (if we ever go to have one), we'll look into doing that. T. |
