It is the considered opinion of the MRU team that when we know that the media was inverted, the orientation should be preserved by mrd_unload(). This is a fairly simple thing to check now that we have the full Read Element Status data. The other SMS applications that use MRD and support optical devices seem to use OSMS instead of MRD for optical. Still, I have to verify that MDMS won't be affected. | |||||

MDMS has verified that this change won't affect their current versions. The changes have been tested on a 16 slot optical (RW500 family) and appears to work well enough. This particular robot only tracks whether the media was inverted going into a drive, but this is the most common case. |
