470.0. "Wrong NT template in V2.1 SSB" by COOKIE::MHUA () Fri May 30 1997 15:44
The ABS engineering has discovered that a wrong version of NT archive
/restore message template file is shipped inadvertently with the
V2.1 SSB kit. As a result, NT save and restore using V2.1 SSB version
signals "checksum errors" :.
THREAD #1: Agent information has been altered
THREAD #1: Facility ABS: ABS_AGENT_INFO_ALTERED, Agent information
has been altered
THREAD #1: Line = 326, File = RESD$:[SRC]CHECKSUM_AGENT.C;1
THREAD #1: Facility ABS: ABS_AGENT_CHECKSUM_ERROR, Error checksumming
agent information
THREAD #1: File: ABS$TEMPLATES:NT_GTAR-1.PARSE_TEMPLATE
THREAD #1:
If the customer is using ABS NT save and restore, please copy the
following file from node COOKIE:: and replace the one in ABS$TEMPLATE
directory.
CRUMBS>dir/prot
Directory AIM$PUBLIC:[ARCHIVE_BACKUP.KITS.V21_SSB_FIX]
NT_GTAR-1.PARSE_TEMPLATE;1
(R,RWED,RE,RE)
Total of 1 file.
There is no need to restart ABS after the replacement of the
file. After the file is replaced, there should be no "checksum
error" signaled in the NT save/retore log files.
There are some additonal error messages parsed in the above version of
the template file. The behavior of NT save and restore
should not be affected by the replacement of this template.

Hi,
I put 470.0 hidden.
It was a part of engineering's confision (or MY ocnfusion) to believe
that wrong version of nt_gtar-1.parse_template was shipped with the
V2.1 SSB kit. The version shipped for V2.1 SSB and the checksum built
into the ABS image matches. There is no need to replace the template
at the customer's site.
If you have already copied the template from the specified area in .0,
please do not distribute further.
