Hi! A customer asked me for better lookup/wildcarding options concerning WNT clients. It is very common (especially in the PC/... environment) that a user isn't able to state the name of his lost file. You will get an answer like "it sounded like somewhat with ..xt3.." To use abs in this environment you need 2 options VERY URGENT a) wildcarding for lookup. As far as I know it it isn't implemented for UNIX and NT clients now. Is there a implementation date ? b) There should be at least an option to display the contents of a directory. As far as I know it you only can lookup the directoryfile itself or a particular file withhin the directory thanks Michael

We are looking planning to add wildcarding for Unix and NT clients. No guarantees at this point, but we are planning it for next version. I have implemented a version of wildcarding for Unix files, and have looked into adding it for NT files as well. So, we are planning this for next version. As for the contents of a directory, the wildcard implementation will allow you to show the contents of a directory. For example, a lookup on /usr/* would list the contents of the directory. Hope this helps. Jim | |||||
