ABS 2.1 OVMS 6.2 How can I produce a BRIEF listing file for a save request? I read note 255.* but I am confused. I try to use /list=brief as agent options but the result is that the is opened in the abs$listings directory but the process is hang, if I see in the scheduler log file I find that it don't work; is stopped at the begin of the backup operation. Could somebody give me the exact steps in order to obtain the brief listing file that customer wants? Thanks, Lorena

438.2 | You must use the GUI to set it up. | COOKIE::HEISLER | Chris Heisler, ABS Engineering | Fri Apr 18 1997 13:55 | 15 |
Lorena, If you specify /list as an agent option, it WILL HANG forever. This is because the listing from BACKUP is actually fed into the Coordinator process. That is how ABS knows the status of the BACKUP. Do NOT use that as an agent option on a save or restore! To get a listing with V2.1, you must use the GUI to set the option. You must choose both "Brief listing" and "Separate listing" to get a listing file output. Those are part of the data movement flags. In the next version, the DCL command will have a /list option which works. Chris |
