Hello - There's a note in this conference from last March, and another one (393.1) that indicates that ABS engineering is working with SSM engineering to allow multiple (identical) tapes to be simultaneously written. Am I correct about this? If so, any idea of timeframe? I have a customer who would like to write 2 tapes simultaneously, and I'd like him to use this product. The client and server system are one and the same, an OpenVMS system. Thanks. mike

yes, we are working on this feature for the next release. The current plan (not yet carved in concrete) is to release the next version in Q2FY98. | |||||

Mike, I apologize - I misunderstood your request. We are working on a feature that will make a second copy of the backup *after* the backup is complete. This is different from doing two backups literally at the same time. Judy |
