403.0. "nt/unix restore to a different loc ?" by UTRTSC::KNOL (isn't every bug a bit wrong) Wed Mar 19 1997 03:58

    abs V2.1

    Is it possible to do a selective restore of a unix/nt backup
    and using a different directory /or node to restore to?

    What I'm seeing on a nt client is that it restores to the "saved"
    directory instead of the wanted directory.

    in the restore request I filled in the "restore to field" c:\test
    while the actual directory was c:\temp

    A customer complains this behaviour is the same with unix restores
    (abs V2.0)

    	is this a bug/feature or is this not yet implemented ?

    NT restore requests CANNOT restore to an alternate location.
    It is on our list of requirements, so it should be available
    in the future.

    UNIX restore requests CAN restore to an alternate location.
    See the V2.1 Release Notes, section 4.2.
