<cross posted in y2k notes conference> For a customer Year 2000 assessment project I need compliancy information on the following products which are not listed in the official WEB page on year 2000 product compliancy: o Reflection-2 for windows v5.1 (VAX terminal emulator) platform: windows 3.11 o ACB v2.1-001 (automatic call back), platform: VMS/VAX I'm not sure if Reflection is a Digital productl. ACB could be an Asset, but I'm no sure. Can somebody answer me te following questions concerning these products (I included the questions from my customer): 1. Are the products, versions, releases as mentioned year 2000 compliant? 2. Has the product actually been tested for and passed year2000 or millenium compliant? 3. What are the minimum levels of these products which are year 2000 compliant? 4. When will the compliant version be available? 5. Are there any major functional changes in these compliant versions compated to the version mentioned above? 6. Is it possible to indicate which problems could arise for the versions mentioned above? Is the result malfunctioning or cosmetic only? Also, the official list of Year 2000 product compliancy doesn't mention VAX/VMS. In which compliancy category falls VAX/VMS and if compliant, which version is compliant? I need the information before end of next week, so any help is welcome. Regards, Geert Dirks

Geert, Hope this is in time. We had a reply from WRQ regarding Reflection. It says (I've taken selective pieces from a standard letter) : 'WRQ development teams are currently engaged in code reviews... in our Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows NT and Mac product lines...There is no plan to update DOS based products' 'WRQ will begin delivering updated software in 1997, and intends to have all software year-2000 compliant by the end of 1998. Unlike many software applications, Reflection's date processing is limited to delaing with file creation and moodification dates, which are not in the future...' 'Year 2000 changes will be included with other product revisions in a version update, which wil be available through our normal channels...' Hope this helps, Michael. | |||||

for information on ACB, check out the 'NSIS reusable software' page at :- http://eadc.aeo.dec.com/ The contact for ACB is Marc Auclaire. I believe the Y2K product compliance page will be updated with ACB (and other assets?) information soon. Graham Stone Open Systems Engineering Centre Solution Support Group |
