Hi, My customer wants to choose where LNX and WEB Worker put their log files. Will it be possible rather soon? Why LNX 3.2.2 needs shmmax 250 times bigger than LNX 3.0.8 (from installation guide)? A remark: When you click on the right button mouse in a folder without menu LNX crashes. Patrice

Hello Jos, >My customer wants to choose where LNX and WEB Worker put their log files. >Will it be possible rather soon? >>There are no plans to make that configurable. Could you put it on the wish list? In my opinion can be done easily for the WEB Worker. The WW creates a lot of files in /tmp >Why LNX 3.2.2 needs shmmax 250 times bigger than LNX 3.0.8 (from >installation guide)? >>Is that true? Did this come from the install guide? See page 25 No, that's not true (21474833647). So, it is 256 times bigger! Patrice | |||||

Patrice, The value for shmmax is as recommended by Oracle and Informix. It is a fictive value which ensures that the rdbms will put the SGA in one segment in shared memory. The allocation of multiple segments of shared memory for the SGA caused problems for Oracle in the passed. Regards, Jos |
