3980.0. "net$configure autoconfigure " by GIDDAY::CHONG (Andrew Chong - Sydney CSC) Thu May 29 1997 22:51

I am looking for an explaination of the "autoconfigure" option for
    Net$configure and the parameters required.

I see references of "autoconfigure" in net$configure, com and in
    cluster_config.com but do't fully understand it's purpose.

The options that can be passed by the user into net$configure are
covered in the installation manual. There are several places in the
dcl code where the words autoconfigure appear, if your simply reading
through the DCL code then I'm not sure what area etc you might be
    refering to.

The published meaning of autoconfigure in net$configure was introduced
in the v7.0 release. This only available on a phase IV system for the
fist time that DECnet-Plus has been installed and will be configured.
On the very first configure the user is asked if they would like the
system autoconfigured. If the answer is yes then the machine will be
automatically configure for DECnet-Plus using the phase IV information.
It will be configured to use a local name space only populated from the
    netnode database on the system.

As for what the autoconfigure means in the cluster config code you'll
need to ask that question in the VMS notes file. VMS is the owner of
    the cluster config code.
