3952.0. "when will eco7 be released?" by CSC32::J_RYER (MCI Mission Critical Support Team) Fri May 02 1997 17:39

Any plans (that can be communicated to customers) as to when
ECO7 for DECnet-OSI V6.3 will be released? It's been almost
six months since ECO6 was released.

My customer had some problems after installing a special
post-eco6 net$transport_nsp.exe patch we supplied to him
(which we believe were related to the image being corrupted
somewhere in the process of copying it from Engineering to
the CSC and then to the customer; we do NOT think that there's
anything wrong with the patched image), and is now very hesitant
to try again with that special image if eco7 is going to be out
soon and will include that fix.

Any status which you can share publicly would be greatly appreciated.

3952.1Probably down to me ...MARVIN::CARLINITue May 06 1997 04:0211
I think we plan to do V6.3-7 once V7.1-1 is out and I believe that I'm currently
holding both of those up )I may not be the *only* person in the way of getting
them out but I am certainly blocking the road at the moment ...)

I have a V7.1-1 build and a V6.3-7 build done and ready to test, but I have to
get some suitable test systems together. I expect that this will be done by the
end of the week and that my testing will be complete soon thereafter.

If I worked for iD, this would translate to "about two weeks" :-)

    Hi Jane,

Actually, Antonio isn't alone. There's a Session Port Hang
problem on connect initiates that has to be killed first.
We've not been able to find a solution yet.

    Cheers,
