The customer has platforms in SAC and NORTHROYALTON, connected by
8 T1 links. With Phase IV of DECnet, the customer used a product called
netresponse to test the bandwidth of his networks. Since the systems
are being upgraded from Phase IV to Phase V, the customer now needs
a Phase V compatible tool that will allow him to test network bandwidth.
He would like to check communication bandwidth across LAN/WAN networks
with such diverse topographys as T1s, DS3s, FastEthernet and etc. The
customer is not interested in testing system throughput as much as network
bandwidth. He said that Netresponse used the loopback mirrors provided
by DECnet.
Do we, or one of our "partners", have a product that we can sell this
customer?
