How does DECnet Plus V7.1 on OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 compare to DECnet OSI V6.3 ECO6 Alpha VMS in functionality. Are the two versions functionally equivalent including bug fixes? thanks Rich

I would think not. 7.0 and 7.1 both added new features which are typically not included in ECO for previous releases. 7.1 includes host based routing which I would expect is not in 6.3 ECO*. -Pete | |||||

V6.3 ECO6 does include bug fixes that were included in V7.1 SSB if applicable. These versions are bug fix equavalents. As Pete indicated, there is new functionality in V7.1, ie. Host Based Routing, which is not included in V6.3 ECO6. DECdns ECO70 changes for the clerk were included in V7.1 SSB. The ECO70 DECdns server changes were not completed in time and were therefore not included in V7.1 SSB. -Pat |
