35.0. "Numeric(p,s) problem in 3.01" by HERON::ROWLANDS (Rob Rowlands @vbo 828 5480) Mon Apr 07 1997 14:20
Solution:
We have a small problem with the numeric(p,s) datatype in this release 3.0.1
which is fixed in the 3.5 release. The workaround when using numeric fields is
change the scale to 1 if it is 0 in the warehouse designer only. You dont need
to change the base table in the database. And negative values should not have
a problem.
thanks

Problem statement:
I have a source table containing column type float (for money)
and this column contains negative value, and Powermart convert it into
number(p,s) in designer.
When I mapped the source to the target (Server manager), the
session is failed after initializing.
Then I tried to give a conditional filter to filter the value
which is less than zero and it worked well.
Do you know what caused the problem, is it because Powermart
doesn't have this feature, or is it because of the trial version of Powermart.
