Hi, a customer of ours asked how he would get a upgrade license for his WindowsNT 4.0 (INTEL) Server's Networker. He tells me that the old license doesn't work anymore and wonders if he has to purchase a new license. Does Legato have UPGRADE-LICENSES ? Any ideas ? 679.1 | what type of enablers does he have and what isn't working anymore? | montlake.zso.dec.com::lenox | Digital's suing Intel, best brand marketing there is | Wed May 14 1997 09:51 | 21 |
Legato has/had upgrade licenses which changed the level of licensing to an equivalently priced license for more functionality but this doesn't cause licenses to stop working. What happened that it doesn't work anymore? Did he change the IP address of the NSR server system? Legato has changed some licensing, so if he bought a network server license during 4.2 or 4.2.1 days and now wants to use a jukebox, they have rolled TurboPak into the base license (and upped the price accordingly), so he'd have to talk to Legato if he is in that bind. The changes do not stop an enabler from working however. BTW, Digital doesn't currently sell NetWorker for NT Intel Servers, so he didn't buy that product from us. Since he bought it from Legato or a Legato reseller, he should be able to take his questions directly to Legato. | |||||

I'm uncertain what kind of key he had - he claimed that the server doesn't work at all unless he entered a new key that he downloaded from the Legato web-server. I'll ask the customer to go thru the channel he's got the new kit from. Thanks for the info ! [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
