659.0. "NSR/NT GUI not recognizing TZ875's tape capacity" by ALFSS2::WHITTINGTON (Where is my Starbuck) Tue May 06 1997 11:19

I have a customer running NSR with the TZ875 autochanger on a Multia-Alpha
running NT 4.0 Service Pack2 and NSR 4.3.

When backing up to the tape drive, the GUI does'nt allow them to fill
the tape up completely with data, and stops at around 5mg. If they do this
from the command prompt they are able to write 10gb.
The reason they initially were doing this from the command prompt was that
they did not have autochanger licensing, and were manually mounting,
    unmounting tapes.

The dlttape.sys is at the latest firmware, and I suspect since the
tape behaves properly in command mode, then there is something in the
    nsr modules not working correctly.

I had him check the Volume default capacity and its set to 20gb
and Volume current capacity is at 10gb.

Is there an updated module to solve this?

    Thanks
    Ed

The tape capacities listed in the GUI are used for computing the
percent full. They do not limit the amount that can be written
to the tape.
