Will NSR backup just the "hard or soft" link information or will it drill down the link pointers to actually back up the data in DUNIX? The customer has multiple links for the same file and does not want to have redundant data on the tape. Bill

If the backup saveset covers all the hard links it will only store the data once on tape. A normal backup including the whole device will work this way. Mulitple ad hoc saves of lower directories may save the data more than once, one per save since those saves will not see all the links. |
