My customer is testing the Exchange module of NSR. His NSR Server is an NT Alpha server. The NSR Exchange client is an NT Alpha server. The exchange server is nt 4.0 with SP1 and exchange 4.0 sp3 The backup an restore are correctly running. The probleme is that the exchange module does not run. When the customer execute the command : nsrxchsv -s .... the system answers : nsrxchsv: The parameter is invalid. I executed the same command but whith an Unix NSR server and it works fine. Is this problem known ? and how could we correct it? Thanks for any help. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Exchange V4.0 is not supported on NT 4.0 until SP2, but we didn't test with NT 4.0 SP2, so it isn't noted. Not only that, we expect that there is a problem you will encounter because there is another topic noting a problem with NT 4.0 SP2 and Exchange 4.0 with NSR. Of course if you don't have such a problem later on, we'd like to know about it. Did you also do what is noted in the release notes? (replacing the bad dll?). Do you mean to say that nsrxchsv -s <unix_server> works... oh, ummm, is the nt box properly licensed for exchange? | |||||

Whitch dll or release note are you talking about ? I forgot to say that nsrxchsv -s <unix_server> works with an nt exchange server Release 4 but whitout the Service pacK. About the different versions of NT and exchange we followed the indocations of the installation guide for nsr exchange. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||

There are release notes which for the exchange & sql module, one of them mentions a problem with a dll in exchange SP 3, it shipped with the kit. re: what versions of Exchange are supported on NT Microsoft says what versions of exchange are supported on what versions of NT, and they don't support Exchange V4.0 on NT 4.0 until you add SP2 (which can cause other problems, but that is Microsoft's blunder). re: a question I asked before Now, parameter invalid messages can happen with improperly licensed modules... do you have a valid enabler for exchange on your NT box? | |||||
