Hi there. I have problems in configuring a TL812 with 4 TZ88 on an Alphaserver400 with 2 KZPSA-BB PCI-scsi adapters. The AXP400 is installed with winnt v3.51-sp5 and Networker Save and Restore v4.3. From within winnt's Backup I am able to se the 4 TZ88 and I can do a backup. I dont get any errors when i install NSR and I am also able to configure the jukebox with "jbconf". If I do "C:\win32app\nsr\bin\inquire" I get the following output scsidev @1.0.0:DEC TL810 <c> DEC1.24!Autochanger Jukebox scsidev @1.2.0:DEC TZ88 <c> DECCC34!Tape,\\.\Tape0 scsidev @1.3.0:DEC TZ88 <c> DECCC34!Tape,\\.\Tape1 scsidev @2.4.0:DEC TZ88 <c> DECCC34!Tape,\\.\Tape2 scsidev @2.5.0:DEC TZ88 <c> DECCC34!Tape,\\.\Tape3 but if I try to do a "mount" or "label" I get the following error in a box """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" "Not ready, logical unit not ready, Initialization command required" " " " " " OK " " " """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" ANY hints or ideas PLS. Regard Jan Thomsen MCS Denmark " [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Have you been opening the door to load the devices? If so, have you rebooted NT since opening that door? Did you start off with nsrjb -HEv and then do a nsrjb -HIv? I'm assuming that you've verified that the top drive corresponds to \\.\Tape0, etc (topic 42), is that so? | |||||

I would get this same error when I issued the command: nsrjb -d -S1 -P0 and if the TL812 was not in the "System On-Line" state. If you look at the LCD panel of the TL812 make sure it says "System On-Line" if not then you will always get this error. I also got this error once when I issed the 'nsrjb' command when the NetWorker services were not started. I had to go to Control Panel - Services and start the NetWorker Services. Make sure you start the services in the correct order. If that doesn't work try restarting the Alpha make sure the NetWorker services are started and then try again. Good luck, Allen Curle P.S. I am at a customer site with the exact configuration. Send me mail if you want. [email protected] |
