| We asked Legato this same question several months ago and
they assured us that NetWorker was Y2K compliant.
I looked for the email, but could not find it. If I do
and it is not confidential, I will post it here.

Year 2000 Compliance Statement
The Legato NetWorker product family fully supports dates in the
year 2000 and beyond. All internal dates are stored in an
internal format that allows representation of dates from January
1st, 1970 through December 31st, 2037. NetWorker correctly
interprets the year 2000 as a leap year. NetWorker interprets
two digit year specifications as follows:
. A year entered in the range of 70-99 is interpreted as
1970-1999
. A year entered in the range of 00-37 is interpreted as
2000-2037
. A year entered in the range of 38-69 is invalid
The compliance statement applies to the following NetWorker
products:
. NetWorker for NetWare Release 3.12 and later
. NetWorker for NetWare Release 4.0 and later
. NetWorker for Windows NT, Release 4.2 and later
. NetWorker for UNIX, Release 4.2 and later
. All NetWorker ClientPaks
. All NetWorker Database Modules and Toolkits

Thanks for posting this information; I'm glad to know that Legato's
base is all set.
"Digital has not yet issued a year 2000 compliance statement for its
NetWorker products."
I assume this is planned, but just wanted to ask to make sure.

www.digital.com/info/year2000. The supported NetWorker products may be found
under the "Year2000/Millennium Software Product Status List".

| Hi Craig
Thanks for the pointer. I didn't see any NetWorker products on that
list, but I'll check back periodically. It's possible that the name is
so archane that my searches didn't find it.

556.6 | FIxing problems with web site ... | DECWET::HUBER | | Wed Apr 09 1997 09:52 | 11 |
| I checked also, on 8-April, and found problems seeing the
NetWorker info. My contact in the DIGITAL group handling
Y2000 compliance issues tells me that there was a goof in
transferring the latest compliance info into the web page.
A much larger, more complete list should be up later today,
or by tomorrow.
Regards,
Craig

| Sure enough, a much longer list is there, with ~1 page of NetWorker
items. All have a 'B' status, indicating that they are already Y2K
compliant, every one of them. As long as the list is complete, all is
well.
Thanks
