552.0. "How to use nsr_ping ?" by GVPROD::MSTEINER () Fri Apr 04 1997 06:32
This is an answer to 55.8-9, but that thread is write-locked...
The backup of one of our client does not work (with the too famous "Operation
would block"). So, I tried nsr_ping...
From the server:
c:\win32app\nsr\bin> nsr_ping -D2 -c geo-dc-1.geo.dec.com
NetWorker: CMD is savefs -s geo-office-2.geo.dec.cm -pp
NetWorker: can't open a raw socket
I tried with various parameters and client names, and always got the same
erro rmessage "can't open a raw socket".
Anything obvious I'm doing wrong ?
Any help is welcome...
PS: Networker 4.3 Alpha (sever) and Intel (clients), all running under NT 3.51
sp5.
Michel.

| The problem is not there. It's an NT system. I did the test from the
administrator account.

even the Administrator account may not have all priveleges...
What rights does your admin account have?

by default ! Are there any special rights needed ?
