541.0. "Informix once more" by MUNICH::DANNER () Tue Apr 01 1997 08:24

One of our customers purchased BusinesSuite for Informix on
AIX and HPUX. Both systems are NetWorker clients.

Legato says that the UNIX NetWorker Server needs to run 4.2 or
better 4.2.5. Additionally a TurboPak option (license) is needed
    on Legato's NetWorker Server.

An installation date is already scheduled with Informix and our
client want to know answers to the below question in advance.

How does it work with our Digital Unix NetWorker Server?

Is dU NSRsvr V4.2b capable to handle BusinesSuite for Informix
V1.0/V1.1 on AIX and HPUX NSRclients?

Does the licensing work like Oracle DMO?
(license on client side but not on Server: DECNSR-DMO-CLNT)

    Any help is highly appreciated

    thanks in advance
    Reinhold

Legato's licensing is completely server based, Digital's
release of DMO is the only thing which isn't server based.
We don't have a turbopak option for the Digital UNIX
server, assume you need the full server license and
number of client connection licenses plus any jukebox
license.

There is nothing I know to stop it from working for 4.2B,
there is some question about whether it will work for 4.3
on Digital UNIX, since we don't sell a license and I
don't know if the server capability will be turned on
by default. I will forward this to the PMs.

this is the answer i hoped to get.
I dont care about NSRsvr V4.3 right now, because it's not shipping yet.

thanks for your reply.
