534.0. "NSR index file system out of space" by ALFSS2::WHITTINGTON (Where is my Starbuck) Thu Mar 27 1997 05:26

I encountered an error that has me puzzled while running Backup on our
    NT 3.51 system this week.
The system is an Alpha 2100 128 MG memory running NT 3.51 service pack
5, with the updated patches to run NSR/NT 4.3. We are connected to a
RAID array, with disk with the following sizes:
    c: - 2007MB
    d: - 4091MB
    e: - 4091MB
    f: - 4091MB
    i: - 53167MB

I started the backup procedure on Monday around 9:00am, NSR continued
until Wed at 8:45pm, and finally stopped with the following error:
The NSR index file system is out of space.
I checked the db size and it was 262,594,560mb.
Can NSR not handle the 2GB size still?

    Thanks

I am have found out what gave the error. I looked on the disk where the
index's are stored and I have 124kb free space. Could this cause the
    error in note .0?

534.2124kb isn't enough to do anything...DECWET::LENOXSoon we will all need two brains...Thu Mar 27 1997 07:544
You'll need a lot more space than that free for
indexes. If little space didn't directly cause your
problem, it almost certainly was indirectly involved.
