474.0. " recover between NT clients possible ? " by EVTAI1::POUSSARD () Tue Mar 11 1997 07:02

	Hi,

	The configuration is:

	- NSR server UNIX 4.2A
	- client UNIX and NT 4.3

I'm not a NT NSR specialist.

I would know if it is possible, that a NT client can recover
data from another NT client, and how ?

I know it is possible between UNIX clients through the remote
access list setting in the client ressource, but it seems that it is not
possible between NT clients..

	thanks for your answer

	Gilles.

I assume you mean that you've tried it if it
'appears' to you that it doesn't work, eh?
It should work but you don't give enough info
for us to help you out.

What did you try, what were the error/other
messages, etc...

E.g. at least describe the following...

Client A, an intel/alpha box, saved data with
version XYZ of NSR

Client B, an intel/alpha box, tried to recover
data with version ABC of NSR

Server, has the following entries in Client A's
access list: ???, ?????, ????

You should be able to recover one NT system's data to another NT
system.

If you have backed up system A, and want to recover to system B,
then put the address of system B into the remote access field of
the client definition for system A. System B should then be able
to recover system A's data.

However, the questions asked in .1 will be helpful in determining
if there are any incompatibilities that are causing problems.
