How do I force networker to see the correct contents of a jukebox (a TL812). Due to a system crash, the old nsr database thinks incorrectly a particular volume is in slot 33 (and is loaded in drive 1 - nrmt0h) while an inventory has correctly found it in slot 1 (and can be loaded and unloaded in drive 3 - nrmt2h). nsrjb -H just hangs, and nsrjb -I does not reset the table. I need to logically clear the empty drive nrmt0h and the empty slot 33. regards Gordon

For some of jukeboxes, the list of slots might not be valid after manually changing tapes. Try the -IE option instead of -I to see if it fixes the problem. Yun Kao | |||||

The quickest way is to just move the tape into drive 1 with the TL810's controls and then do an nsrjb -u. An inventory should be done afterwards just to make sure everything still matches. If you left nsrjb -H alone long enough it might finish. It's waiting for the drive to unload the tape, which first requires opening the drive which waits for the tape to come online. This times out after 20 or 30 minutes. I'm guessing the time here since nobody waits that long to find out. |
