Hello My customer use TLZ7L autoloader as back-up device and NSR ver. 4.2. He want to use TLZ7L autoloader running on the NSR but I have some question on configuration jukebox. First step, I registed juke box tier 1 license on the NSR server. Second step, Before the NSR configuration run the "jb_config" I don't know what is control port name, so input device file name eg. /dev/nrmt3h. However abnormal termination with core dump. Please let me know "jb_config" step. I have some fault? Regards. P. S. Kim

You should read the documentation in the addendum about configuring a jukebox. You need to create a device to control the robot. Mark

With NetWorker 4.2(abc)for DIGITAL UNIX jb_config should find and configure the control port for you if the changer driver (CLC Version 3.1a) is installed. Select option 1, Install an Autodetected SCSI Jukebox and carefully follow the prompts.

Hi, Thanks for your answer Roger Walker. First I try to install CLC version 3.1 in NSR server and rebuild a kernel. Second using "MAKEDEV.MC" I make a special file for jukebox. My TLZ7L device has 5 target-id and 1 bus number so unit-number is 13. using command "# MAKEDEV.MC mc13" I make a special file /dev/mc13. Third running a "jb_config" I input /dev/mc13 as control port name but abnormal termination. /dev/mc13 is not control port? Have some mistake? Regards. Pil-Seog Kim
368.4 | control port is at LUN 1. | DECWET::FARLEE | Insufficient Virtual um...er.... | Thu Feb 06 1997 09:44 | 12 |
I see the problem here. On a TLZ7L, the control port is at LUN 1, while the tape drive is at LUN 0. So, in your case, to access LUN 1, you need to use the command: MAKEDEV.MC mc13b As you read in the CLC documents, mc devices are a (or no letter) for LUN 0, b for LUN 1, c for LUN 2, etc. Kevin |
