295.8 | error 33 with .PST files | GVPROD::MSTEINER | | Thu Feb 27 1997 06:18 | 12 |
| We're seeing the same problem with Exchange personal folder files (.PST) on
our NT office servers (3.51 sp5, Networker 4.3 Alpha).
What we see is that when users do not "exit and logout" from exchange, some
of these .PST files are backed up, while some others are not ("read failed...
error 33).
Is the only way to avoid such problem by asking users to exit from exchange
during the night ? Is it planned that a future version of Networker be able
to backup these .PST files ? (or are they open in a way that makes this
impossible).
Michel.

295.9 | I'm looking for a solution to the problem in .8 too | ARRCEE::CORBISHLEY | David Corbishley 609-799-8641 | Wed Mar 12 1997 12:33 | 5 |
| I'd like to add on to the previous reply, .8. In OpenVMS backup we had
/IGNORE=INTERLOCK. Is a similar capability available in NetWorker?
Would the new Exchange module help us with these files?
David

The new Exchange module is for the Exchange Server, not clients.
So... it won't help.
