52.0. "netlogon T/S" by KAOFS::M_VALLEE (csc hull canada) Thu Mar 06 1997 20:41

    Hi

Does anobody have a good T/S or gathering data for eng. strategy for
when the netlogon service stops responding to pc requests. The pc will
start getting when they reboot the following error:

No domain server available to validate your password.

When this happens the netlogon is still running and all pathworks
processes are hib pc can still do use to drive but they can't
get validated. Is there any counters that pwmon would show for netlogon
    related issue linke (mailbox etc.

Not at the moment, the only thing you can do now is :

    	- Make an iris trace
    	- make a full debug output of the lmmcp and the lmdmn process.

The iris trace will let you see if the netlogon mailslot is sent
and if a response is sent out.

The mailslot will processed by the lmmcp process and put on the LOGONQ
    of the lmdmn process.
The lmdmn process will process the netlogon mailslot and will sent the
response back with the doswritemailslot rtn.

    Thats all for the moment.

How do you

"make a full debug output of the lmmcp and the lmdmn process"

I'm assuming "debug=yes" in lanman.ini + debugsize and debugdir.

Correct?

In V6 we probably have a tracer by which you can monitor
logon requests. Although the trace code is not in v6 yet
it works here in our lab.
