    Hi,
    
    THere is apparently a problem with Pathworks 32 and the NeoMagic video
    driver that is loaded on Hinote VP 565 and 575 laptops.  With PW
    loaded, during Win95 startup (prior to the login screen), the laptop
    powers off (honest!).  Remove Pathworks and it boots fine. Use MS
    Client (netbeui) or tcp/ip and it works fine - just a Pathworks
    problem.
    
    There was another note about this problem and the workaround is to use
    the standard SVGA driver. Of course this only gives you 16 colors but
    at least the network works!
    
    Is engineering aware of this problem?  
    
    I've had three customers call about this. The 500 series is ok but
    these newer ones have a definite problem with Pathworks.
    
    Thanks for any info you have. Pending application of a new bios version
    that comes out in a couple of weeks, I will likely CLD this.

	I'm waiting for my customer to apply the new bios in a couple of weeks. I can IPMT but you'll have to get your own laptop ;-) Gary

	Just got a call from the field engineer. They found an updated video driver. Customer installed it and fixed the problem. Don't have details now on version, name, etc. but he is forwarding it to me and I'll post the details here when I get it. Since this is getting to be a common problem with pathworks on our hi-notes, should we make this driver available from our resources somehow? Gary

	Hi Jeff / Gary I would like to get the new video driver too; Hopefully I see it on JAMIN::PW32: Re to .3 Also, do you have a pointer to the latest BIOS for the Notebook Digital HiNote VP565 Modell TS30G ? Shouldn't it be on the "Digital PC Software Library" http://www.windows.digital.com/~ftp/00-index.stm BTW: according to my customer he had a GPF "General Protection Fault" when starting Win95 after applying PW32 thanx Walter
