237.0. "Setup problem on NT 4.0 French version" by BACHUS::TIMMERMANS () Thu Apr 17 1997 06:15

 Hello,

 When installing Pathworks 32 on a French version of NT 4.0
 the installation fails to create a program group for Pathworks

 Is this a known problem ? , i imagine our collegues from France
 experienced this one...

 Thanks,

237.1Adding PATHWORKS32 FolderJAMIN::T_BROWNThu Apr 17 1997 11:5517
    These can be added manually if the Shortcut phase fails to be
    successful. The items added to the PATHWORKS 32 menu group are:

    DECnet File Transfer Utility (NFTW.EXE), if DECnet was selected
    Event Log Viewer (DECLOG.EXE),always installed
    VT320 Terminal Emulator (VT320.EXE), if VT320 was selected
    PATHWORKS Information Shelf (PW32.HLP), always installed
    PATHWORKS Connection Manager (PWCM32.EXE), if Remote Access was
    selected

    Create group by Right mouse click on Start button, select Open
    All Users, select Programs group, click File, New, Folder.
    Name Folder to "PATHWORKS 32". Double click on you new
    folder, select New, Shortcut, and enter information listed
    above.

    Ok,
    But if you have to do it >250 times in a row ...
    My customer is upgrading all clients to WNT , he 's
    expecting a solution to this problem..

If there's a problem that product management/engineering needs to
fix, I'm sure they'd like an IPMT submitted for it

Or they can learn a reasonable language... ;-)

(what do you expect with no IPMT?)

    Thanks for the quick response , this saved money and a lot of
    hours for everybody to process a IPMT

ONLY when the problem has been seen and fixed. Other than that, it normally
takes longer, 'cause you wait for someone to answer you... and the problem
still happens.
