200.0. "Another license question" by VIRGIN::SUTTER (Who are you ??? - I'm BATMAN !!!) Wed Apr 02 1997 11:33

Hi,

if somebody wants to get rid of PW client licenses and has PW32 V7.0
clients accessing a Pathworks Digital UNIX V6.1A server:

	* would a PWLMOSFCU05.00 license be enough?

	* If not, what PW32 ontop of above license is required?

	* Would this mean that he needs a License server?

	* If one needs a License server to run a PW32 client, is
	  it possible to have ONE client license that allows PW Server
	  access AND grants the use of PW32 SW (eXcursion, PowerTerm,
	  LAT, etc.)

Thank's much already & Regards,

Arnold
P.S.: would be nice to have a list of Pathworks licenses with
Name, UPI and LMF product name.

    The OSFCU license grants access to the server.

    The WINAT07.00 (PW 32 System License) grants the right to run PW32 (or
    other client software) on each PC on a PC-BY-PC basis. This is not
    enforced, so if they really want to they can get away without a license
    server as long as they track the licenses to be sure they're legal.
    This is not the standard method, but is perfectly legal.
