I have v4 NT on an Alpha with PW 32. I ran PNLCFG to change the license type and when I exited I got these messages in PWLOG: 08:14:00 PNLC0001S: DEC LAN Manager License Configuration (PNLCFG.EXE) Version V7.0.054 08:14:00 PNLC0002S: Copyright (c) 1993-1996 Digital Equipment Corporation 08:14:40 PNLR0001S: DEC LAN Manager License Requester (PNLR32.EXE) Version V7.0.054 08:14:40 PNLR0002S: Copyright (c) 1993-1996 Digital Equipment Corporation 08:14:44 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 28.281 08:14:44 SPAW9999N: Request from user: 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from node: 28.281 on socket 1 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) with access privilege: 0 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Command .' -use 1 -access 0 executed! 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 63.790 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from user: 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from node: 63.790 on socket 3 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) with access privilege: 0 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Command .' -use 3 -access 0 executed! 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 63.223 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from user: 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from node: 63.223 on socket 4 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: CreateProcess failed: The system cannot find the file specified. 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: CreateProcess failed: The system cannot find the file specified. 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) with access privilege: 0 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Command .' -use 4 -access 0 executed! 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 28.222 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from user: 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: CreateProcess failed: The system cannot find the file specified. 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request from node: 28.222 on socket 6 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) with access privilege: 0 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Command .' -use 6 -access 0 executed! 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: CreateProcess failed: The system cannot find the file specified. 08:15:38 PNLR0003N: Loading license for "DEC-PWLMDOSCC07.00" from server "VAKSHN", group "default" 08:15:38 PNLR0055W: License server "ALFAXP" did not respond within the timeout period. 08:41:26 PNLT0003N: License "DEC-PWLMXXXFP07.00" presented to server "". > 08:14:44 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 28.281 > 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) > 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: SPAWNER request from node: 63.790 > 08:14:46 SPAW9999N: Request on object: RIKER#1 L (0) It appears that the flood of responses from license servers has exceeded the number of simultaneous responses that the License Requester can handle. The overflow is getting forwarded to the Spawner because a NetBIOS connection request over DECnet looks like a connection to a DECnet named object. If some of the License Servers on your network don't have any PATHWORKS licenses loaded, you might ask the owners to shut them down. The number of simultaneous connections allowed will be increased for the TIMA release (V7.0a) and that may make the symptom go away. |
