162.0. "NFT not copying" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Stephen) Fri Mar 14 1997 04:37

Hi there,

I have a customer running PW v10a eco2 and 5.0d eco3 , NFT v6.0.0.11
When they trying to copy a file from the client to the server NFT crashes
after a while. This only happens when copying files around 7MB. These files
can be copied to the server by mapping a drive and using cut and paste without
a problem.
NFT worked fine until 6 the clients were moved to a different area of the
Network
further from the server. All the clients are experiencing the same problem but
are all able to copy the files using cut and paste.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to any parameters which can be changed in
NCP
or a fix ??

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm responding in both places.

NFT is basicly the same thing everywhere. In any case, for any DECnet copy
problem, whether NFT or NFTW or Mac Netcopy or FAL somewhere is the problem, we
need the same information:

Do a DIR/FUL of the input file (or equivalent, e. g., UNIX ls data -l) and
the output file, if one was created. Post the results.
Addition information about the contents of the file is helpful, for example,
whether it's an executable image, an RMS ISAM file, or text file.
List the options used on the copy (NFT switches, NFTW options, VMS EXC/NET
  switches, whatever).
If the problem is file integrity, i. e., the file is trashed on the copy,
  dumps are helpful.
