The problem is PW32 requires entries in the registry, and FX!32 generates
the DigitalEquipmentCorporation as a TEMP location... so changes we make to
the area get deleted.
FX!32 needs to NOT make the entire DigitalEquipmentCorporation tree volatile.

| I think this used to be in the FX!32 release notes. It was really
goofy. If you started the control panel from the start menu, it didn't
work, if you started it from the eXcursion icon it would. I know that
it's been broke since FX!32 hit the streets. I thought there was a
workaround for this, but I no longer have an alpha box with fx!32 on it
so I can't confirm or deny.

Perhaps it's time to revisit this. I thought there was some discussion between
the FX!32 engineers and Dave Rich (formerly with eXcursion development)
about this problem. Unfortunately alot of this happened while eXcursion
was in a state of flux (deciding who was going to own it) so it may have dropped
on the floor.
I was gonna say "QAR it" but I just noticed that the PATHWORKS 32 database is
writelocked.

The QAR database for 7.0 is write locked, but... on QAR1 there is a 7.0a
database ... My qar account is hosed (again) so I can't get you the
exact name.

| The QE_INTERNAL account must not have access to the new one. I can
see the old WIN_PRODUCT_SUIT db, but nothing that screams: PATHWORKS 32
7.0a. Guess I'll have to figure out how to get a "real" account. ;-)

| I truly and sincerely looked for the name of an account manager on
QAR1. I'm fairly certain I've written to such an individual before,
but I can't find any email trail, so if someone can point me at a
system manager for the QAR system on QAR1, I'd be grateful. QE_INTERNAL
can't see the TIMA database. And I don't, to my knowledge, have
an account on QAR1.
