Transport Driver Interface a kernel-mode interface to transports (DECnet for PATHWORKS 32, TCP/IP, NetBEUI, IPX for the base OS), used mostly by the redirector on NT, i.e. it's what brings you Lanman File&Print Services over DECnet on NT. Vincent | |||||

> What is TDI which is supported by PW32? Transport Driver Interface In Windows NT it takes the place of the ancient NetBIOS API as the interface between the LAN Manager (SMB Protocol) file and print services (Workstation and Server) and the various network transports. This allows Windows NT to work around some of the limitations of NetBIOS. To support old NetBIOS applications, Windows NT includes a translation layer that translates the NetBIOS API to TDI calls. |
