109.0. "Licencing questions OTL .vs. 5LW" by EVTAI1::ROUX_P (Software Mktg France) Mon Feb 03 1997 12:32

    My reading of the Sales Update article entitled "DIGITAL PATHWORKS Business
    Practice Changes" raises a few questions I suppose other people ask
    themselves :
    - for an existing 16-bit PC customer (ie Win 3.1 or 3.11), does a
      customer order a "new" QP-5LWAA instead of the traditional QM-0TLAA ?
    - if the licence of PWKS-32 grants a non-32 bit PC user, will the
      QA-0TLAA-H8 (ie the 16-bit binary Cd-ROM) be available for a
      foreseable future ?
    - will the QM-0TLAA disappear ?

    Best regards
    Philippe

>>>
>>> Yes...assuming that they want the same rights (..to use PATHWORKS client
>>> software (PATHWORKS for DOS and Windows) *and* access to PATHWORKS (LAN
>>> Manager) servers).
>>>
    - if the licence of PWKS-32 grants a non-32 bit PC user, will the

>>>
>>> Yes. Note that the article does not say anything about the future of any
>>> software packages (HKits) so the assumption should be that nothing has
>>> changed in that regard.
>>>
    - will the QM-0TLAA disappear ?
>>>
>>> It has!
>>>
>>> So has QM-0EKAA, QM-2CNAA, QM-2K5AA, QM-2K6AA, QM-YFWAA, QM-506AA, QM-36EAA,
>>> and QM-YPHAA. All CCS licenses were retired as well as CNS licenses for
>>> DOS/Windows, Windows NT, and OS/2.
