103.1 | Use ptreadme.txt file for additional info. | JAMIN::TELESETSKY | | Tue Jan 28 1997 14:36 | 6 |
| There is a ptreadme.txt file on the pw32 kit for the PowerTerm
product which specifies how to get to the F18 key. Basically,
F13-F20 are obtained using Ctrl F3 thru Ctrl F10.
The PATHWORKS Vt320 uses Alt F3 thru Alt F10.

| Hello,
tanks you for your reply. Of course I can get the F18-Code by pressing ALT-F8,
but on a LK451 it is better to get it by pressing F18. In VT320 all keys of
the
LK-Keyboards work.
We hava a important Customer that uses a lot of LK451-Keyboards and he needs
an
Emulator that works like a VT-Terminal.

When you say "in VT320", to you mean a "real" vt320, or emulator ?

Unfortunately, no. It came in too late and is lacking in that respect.
The PTREADME.TXT will help a bit.
It is not clear if you are using an LK45x driver or not. You have
probably done a DIR/TITLE=F18 in SUTRA::LK450 and know all about it.
Check Marc Bassinne's page
http://nuages.sbu.vbe.dec.com/#LK450
for the latest kit and let us know if this does you any good.

| Hello,
I use the newest LK45X-Drivers for NT. The F18 Key works with the VT320
Emulator
(after assigning it to send F18) with KeaTerm 4.2 and with eXcursion 3.0.
I use a german version of the LK451.

This is more FYI, to obtain F18 with Windows NT you'll need to run
the Beta 2 drivers from http://nuages.sbu.vbe.dec.com. This node is
always the most recent drivers internally. For our external partners
they have to go through www.pc.digital.com service/support.
The beta3 drivers send F18 as print-screen, SHIFT-F18 is sent thru
but the F18 and control-f18 are swallowed as print-screen and
print-window by NT.

| Hello Marc,
I just tried with the BETA2 drivers but in Powerterm I couldnt get F18 to
work. Maybe it has something to do with the German LK451 or the German NT.
If it works in your PC I would be interested in the configuration and
registry-
entries.

| At some point in the LK4xx beta it was not enough to just run lksetup,
you also had to go into the keyboards control panel and change the
default layout to be the newly installed lk450 layout file.
If you haven't done that, make sure you do.

| I have selected the LK450 in the control Panel. I am shure that the system
uses
the driver because I get the LK-Layout in all Windows-Applications.

103.10 | Normal keyboard does not work, too | NBODIC::FUCHS | Markus Fuchs | Fri Feb 28 1997 13:11 | 15 |

Hi
I had the same problem as Christoph. So I tried a normal PC keyboard
because I saw in the "Keyboard Mapping", that the F18 key is mapped to
the PrintScreen key. But this didn't work too. The PrintScreen key
made a printout of the screen and not the function F18.
So I assume that the PowerTerm cannot translate the F18 key (which is
the same as the PrintScreen key) to the function of F18. The keyboard
works with the drivers and other emulator fine.
I have a customer who wants to buy a lot of Licenses but only if the
LK4xx keyboard work completely.

F18, Use the Beta 2 kit, instead of doing VK_SNAPSHOT, it sends
VK_OEM_F18. I'am not sure that the Powerterm 525 is equipped to handle
this but it would give you the possibility of mapping the f18 key.
Marc.
