Gary, what is the helpdesk address which you think is broken?
Did you get an error when trying to send mail to it?

> either I don't have access privileges (with password) or "DSA is >
unavailable".

Please check the ELF FAQ page for more help.
	http://www-elf.bb.dec.com/elf-faq.html

The "DSA
unavailable" error is unfortunately also sent when you use the
incorrect syntax when adding/changing information. While
annoying, it might be helpful if you change one field at a time,
to isolate what's causing the insufficient access error

If you still get the access error, please try mailing the
helpdesk ( [email protected] ) again, and include
which field you were adding/changing, what you entered and
the error.

77.4A number of update problemsTHEBAY::WIEGLEBVoracious schools of lottery girlsMon Mar 03 1997 13:3648
There seem to be a number of problems with the ELF update process.

We recently submitted changes to get our site code changed in ELF
from SZO to SFX. It looks like the correct changes have made it into
ELF V3, but ELF V2 still lists the old information. The Corporate
Directory folks are saying my Site Code in their database is still SZO,
and has not been changed to SFX.

Also, during the update process of ELF V3, much of the customized
information got trashed, such as an additional DTN entry which lists my
correct DTN, a comment listing the date the new DTN went live, my
    external telephone number, etc.

Also, some information that I did not customize got trashed. My
Internet mail address listed my address as "[email protected]" and
it now lists "[email protected]". (I believe it may have
been originally changed by CCS during the Exchange migration, but I'm
not sure what the process was.)

I've posted the contents of both ELF V2 and ELF V3 below. It looks
like the process of updating entries in the company is still plagued
with problems. Any updates on when ELF V2 will be retired? That would
at least simplify some of the problems. How can we better coordinate
the maintenance of information in our ELF database to keep ELF a useful
    tool?

    Thanks,

    - Dave

77.5Phone # updating problemJULIET::CARLSON_CHFri Apr 11 1997 14:3310
I've updated my phone # in ELF V2/V3 however, I can't seem to get my
old (now defunct) phone number removed. I can't seem to access
the field "Official DTN" in ELF V3 - It placed my new phone
number in the field titled "alternate DTN". In ELF V2 it lists
    both DTN's.

How can I officially remove this old phone #?????
