AFU 3.0 I need to create a group of internal users (unknown@IP-address) containing about 300 entries. Doing this by hand would be silly, so I created a user group with one entry, found a file called users.grp, and added the rest by appending to that file. This appeared to work initially, but the extra entries vansihed a while later. Is this the correct way to "preload" a group? A real problem is that groups don't seem to accept IP addresses: they appear to want DNS names. This customer has thousands of PCs, none of which have DNS names. How can I create groups using IP addresses? PJDM

I was at another AFU3 customer this morning. They have to deal with a total of 420,000 addresses spread over an unknown number of DNS servers and administrative areas. If they have to put names to addresses, or if they can't preload user groups, they're in big trouble. PJDM | |||||

A more precise question: Is there the equivalent of allowfake=TRUE for gxd? Or doesn't it need this? PJDM |
