1942.0. "Fourth network interface in AV Firewall 97" by HGOVC::CHRISTSANG () Mon May 05 1997 08:29

    Hello,

I have visited the Altavista software web site. I understand that the
AV Firewall 97 supports DMZ. It mentions support of a third network
interface that needs to be configured outside of the firewall GUI.

Does it support a fourth network interface outside of the GUI ?

    Please advise.

    Best regards
    Chris

Of course it does! It supports anything that Digital UNIX
supports. Our record in the UK is currently 5 going on 6
interfaces ...

You need to be clear what question you are asking. If you
want to know what the _PRODUCT_ supports, then ask AltaVista
or look on their WWW Site. That will tell you what the GUI
can do.

If you want to know what a consultant can do with the product,
look on this notesfile. Our UK firewall, which is owned by
an ISP, has one red interface, four blue interfaces (serving
four separate customers), one purple interface for a dedicated
management LAN, and will shortly have a conventional green
interface for WWW servers as well. The red and the first
blue interfaces are configured through the GUI; the rest are
done outside it!
