Hello, We are preparing a tender response for a firewall to HK Jockey Club. I would like to inquire about the latest multi-host configuration for a High End Firewall ? I understand that this used to be a 3-host system : a. Mailgate running SMTP mail b. Gated runs on a dual-home systems running 'screend' c. Gatekeeper on a dual-home system running AV Firewall (maybe Firewall 97 now) Is there any changes to the above configuration ? Is the kit readily available from the network ? (I believe the AV Firewall 97 can be downloaded from the altavista software web site.) Is there any performance figure available for the high-end firewall ? When is the latest release ? Does Digital circulate security related information to firewall customer via email ? Please advise for us to answer this tender. Best regards Chris

There's no such thing as a standard firewall. You need a firewall consultant to talk to the customer to find out what they need. A firewall can be one machine or six or anything in between. It can probably even be more than six, though I'd have some difficulty describing that just now. So, find the person who is going to deliver this, and get him involved in the pre-sales. That's the only way to ensure that the customer's expectations are correct, and that the solution can be delivered. T |
