1903.0. "Two WWW proxies?" by OSL09::BJORNMY (Open but Secure) Thu Apr 03 1997 02:29

Is it possible to have two wwwproxies running at different ports on the
    firewall?

If so it would be possible to set up groups with 3.0 with different
access rights without resorting to measures like the ones I asked about
    in a previous note (2001?).

Sorry, notes reference in previous note should be 1901. Too much
    influence from SF :-)

Well, I did two proxies on AFWU V2 for a customer...

It was a interesting exercise, because one of the control
files (the acl file, I think) has its name embedded in the
proxy itself. As a result, I had to patch the image to
make a new version that used a different file. (Since I
don't know UNIX well enough, I took the file over to VMS
and used Patch/Absolute!) It works a treat.

The customer wanted a few IP addresses to be allowed all
WWW access at all times. They want all other addresses to
be allowed http only, and only outside working hours...

It was "fun" to set up.

I haven't looked to see whether this is easier in V3, but
Galway did say at the time that the filename should not
have been hard-coded in the image ...
