1880.0. "Suspected inconsistency in gxd config through GUI." by MEOC02::JANKOWSKI () Wed Mar 19 1997 05:16
I configured through GUI the gxd generic relay on AFWNT V1.1 for
reading news from all hosts on the inside to one host at the ISP.
The GUI reports correct configuration:
squiggle (meaning subnet) subnet 172.16.0.0 -> 191.189.54.5:119
However when I look into the generated nntpgateway.acl file I can see
authentication none;
include .............
include .............
allow uknown@* nntpgateway *:*
Now, the last line seems to be certainly too permissive.
So who is right, the GUI or the .acl file?
Regards,
Chris Jankowski

The GUI is correct. The ACL file is used more for blacklist and time
restriction purposes. Specific addresses are checked through the
registry first.
