We have a customer reporting that his reports seem to be generated a few minutes after midnight in AVFW-NT V1.1 (Windows NT V4.0) and do contain the data of that same day (i.e. only a few minutes) with no activity in it since no activity occurs during the night at this customer. Could anyone enlighten me on how the automatic reports are launched, when they sould run (before or after midnight) and maybe how this can happen. I suppose that the reports should run after midnight reporting the previous day, but obviously the don't do so here. Gast.

1855.1 | Can change time reportgen is run | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Jim Pyle | Wed Mar 12 1997 12:07 | 20 |
The registry key Software\DigitalEquipmentCorp\Firewall\fwmon\reports controls when the reportgen program is run. As a workaround, you can try changing the time so reportgen is run the end of the current day. Set the hour value to 23, and the minute value to 30. The proxies close the logs and move them at midnight. For this workaround you need to leave enough time for reportgen to finish before the logs get moved. This processing time will vary with the log size, and the number and of reports desired. With this workaround, the report will miss the last half hour of the day (11:30 to 12:00). I'll look at getting a fix so the automatic reports look at the previous day. - Jim [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
