One of my DFWU customers recently had a new request: How to let some internal users be able to read their mails, which are located on mailgate (private IP) behind the firewall, from Internet via dialing up to an ISP with notebooks when they are traveling ? (The user will possibly read their mail by using Netscape Mail, not by telneting to mailgtae then issuing Mail command to read mails.) Any solutions? -Arthur- [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Either they can tunnel (very secure), or run a many-to-one generic tcp relay from the outside in to port 110 on mailgate.

Can you do the same with AFW NT 1.1, ie, can you use the generic proxy? I think so -please confirm. Andrew Stylianou

AVFW for NT supports generic proxies which can be used to access POP mail outside the firewall. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
